Dr. Yvan Latour
Dr. Yvan Latour Dr. Latour began his post-secondary education at the University of Waterloo, where he studied Civil Engineering from 1982-1985. He earned an Honors Biochemistry Degree from UWO in 1988. He went on to study at Laval University in Quebec City from 1988-1992, where he received a DMD degree from their school of Dentistry. Dr. Latour practiced as an associate from 1992-2001. He then became the proprietor of a North Bay dental practice in the Fall of 2001, later to be known as Lakeshore Dental Care. On January 1, 2004 the newly constructed building at 307 Lakeshore Drive opened its doors and has since been the home of our Lakeshore Dental Care team. Dr. Latour's attention to detail and admirable focus on providing the best patient experience possible, sets the standard of patient care that our office provides.
Dr. Len Burman
Dr. Len Burman Son of Hank and Paulette Burman, “Dr.B” as he is known in the office, was raised in North Bay. An honors grad from Scollard in 1967, former North Bay Trapper, graduate of St. Mike's University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science 1970, and a graduate of U of T Dental school 1974. While at U of T, Dr.B played on 3 Canadian Hockey Championship teams with the U of T Varsity Blues. He has been a member of the Ontario Dental Association and Canadian Dental Association since 1974. Dr.B moved back to North Bay in 2004 after 30 years of private practice in Ottawa. Dr. Burman has been associating with Dr. Latour at Lakeshore Dental Care since January 2005. His passion for dentistry and sense of humor with team and patients has been his trademark in his career.
Lyndsy Wendorf - Office Coordinator
Lyndsy Stephen Lyndsy graduated from Seaforth District High School in 2002. She continued her education at Durham College in the School of Media, Art and Design where she excelled in Advertising & Marketing Communications, graduating with honors in 2004. Lyndsy began as the Hygiene Coordinator at Lakeshore Dental Care in June of 2008 and was promoted to Office Coordinator in July of 2011. Her loyalty and dedication to her teammates, patients and the office are evident during and outside of office hours.
Joanne Gauthier - Dental Assistant
Joanne Gauthier Joanne graduated from Chippewa Secondary School in 1991. She continued her education with Algonquin College's Dental Assisting Program, which she completed in 1993 before becoming a Dental Assistant that same year. In 1997 Joanne graduated from Canadore College's Level II Dental Assisting Program before starting a family with her husband Mike. They now have two beautiful daughters, Paige and Olivia. Joanne had worked with Dr. Latour at a previous practice from 2000 to 2004 and we are so lucky that she rejoined him at Lakeshore Dental Care in 2006 as his main Dental Assistant. They continue to make an amazing team.
Shannon Peters - Dental Assistant
Shannon Peters Shannon graduated from Canadore College's Dental Assistant Level II Program in 2009 and began assisting in September the same year. In January 2011, she joined the team at Lakeshore Dental Care as Dr. Burman's main Dental Assistant. Together, they are a fun and energetic team. In September 2012, Shannon married her highschool sweetheart Nic, and have since welcomed two sons, Hayden and Carter to their family. Devotion and sincerity come naturally to Shannon. These important qualities make her an amazing mom and have already made her an excellent Dental Assistant.
Anik Doucette - Dental Assistant
Anik Doucette Anik graduated as a Level II Dental Assistant from College Boreal in 2004. Born and raised in Mattawa, she decided to begin her career travelling, spending 5 years in Grand Caymen. Working as a Dental Assistant, she then had the opportunity to complete a Dental Mission in the Amazon Jungle, trekking through Peru. Once back in Mattawa, Anik participated in fly-in dentistry to the Northern Reserves. In 2012 she met her spouse Rick and together they made the decision to start a family. They now have two girls, Avery and Addison. In December 2017, Anik joined our team. Her keen attention to detail and organizational skills make her a perfect fit for a dual role as Sterilization Officer and Level II Dental Assistant.
Nancy Babich - Hygienist
Nancy Babich Nancy completed Canadore's English as a Second Language course in 1992. While at Canadore, she met her future husband Rodney. Nancy went on to earn a diploma in General Arts and Sciences in 1993 also from Canadore College. In 1994, Nancy graduated from Bilingual Dental Assisting from Canadore College. She then went on to complete Dental Hygiene, in French, at La Cite Collegiale in Ottawa in 1996 and has been a Dental Hygienist ever since. In the year 2000, Nancy and Rodney had their son Nicholas. Less than two years later, Nancy began working as a Dental Hygienist at Lakeshore Dental Care, in February of 2002. Nancy's dedication and hard work make her an essential part of our team.
Joeleen Tignanelli - Hygienist
Joeleen Tignanelli Joeleen completed Canadore College's Dental Assisting Program in 1999. She then graduated from Dental Hygiene at Cambrian College in 2004. Joeleen has been a Dental Hygienist at Lakeshore Dental Care since 2004. Joeleen's strong family values and dedication to her husband David, daughter Cadence and son Morgan are comparable to her loyalty to her Lakeshore Dental Care family and patients. Her charisma and ambition make her indispensable to our team.
Jennifer DeBernardi - Hygienist
Jennifer DeBernardi Jennifer graduated from Oshawa's Dental Assisting program in 1998. Continuing her education, she attended The Canadian Institute of Dental Hygiene in Hamilton where she graduated in 2005. Jenn met her husband Stephane in 2000, as he was repairing a dental hygiene chair in the office where she worked. They married in 2003 and lived in Hamilton for 10 years before moving to North Bay for Stephane's job. We were then lucky enough to gain Jenn as a hygienist in our office. Her dazzling personality and devotion to her patients have made her a welcomed addition to our Lakeshore Dental Care family.
Niki Gauthier - Treatment Coordinator
Niki Gauthier Niki attended Canadore College's Dental Assisting program from 1992-1993 and earned a 1 year certificate. In June of 1995, she completed the Preventive Dental Assisting Course at University of Western Ontario in conjunction with the ODAA. Niki then obtained her Dental Assisting Level II Upgrade at the University of Western Ontario in conjunction with the ODAA in April of 1998. She has been with the practice since May 1996 and was a Clinical Dental Assistant for 15 years before being promoted to Treatment Coordinator in January of 2011. Raising her daughters Mackenzie and Hanna alongside her husband Denis has been her greatest joy. Niki's strong communication skills, dental assisting background and genuine character enables her to excel at answering any questions regarding dental procedures and finances and also makes her invaluable to our practice.
Jenn Bolton - Hygiene Coordinator
Jenn Bolton Jenn attended Canadore College’s Dental Hygiene Program, graduating in 2015. During her schooling, she completed her Dental Hygiene Observation at our office. In her third year, Jenn was the recipient of the Frank Marusich award for exemplifying outstanding leadership qualities. We are lucky to have Jenn as a Hygienist, as well as our full-time Hygiene Coordinator. Outside of office hours, Jenn enjoys going to North Bay Battalion games with her dad and is the newest member of our Lakeshore Dental Care volleyball team. Jenn is also a member of the North Bay Dental Hygiene Association. Our team loves Jenn’s fun and positive attitude, and her caring nature. Those attributes make her a valuable asset to our team.
Glenda Cherewyk - Restorative Coordinator
Glenda Cherewyk Glenda was born in Toronto and raised in Pembroke, where she attended Fellows High School. Continuing her education, Glenda earned her HARP Certification in 2003 from Georgian College. In the early 80’s, Glenda began her career in dentistry in the Mississauga area. She then moved to Barrie, where she worked for ten years as a Dental Receptionist. In 2008, Glenda and her husband Joel moved to BC, where Glenda worked for 9 years as a Dental Receptionist and Hygiene Coordinator. Luckily for us, Glenda and Joel moved to North Bay in 2016, where she took one year off to spend time with her son Emmit, daughter Sherri and 7 grandchildren, before finding her home at Lakeshore Dental Care. Glenda's heart of gold, unmatched professionalism and beautiful smile, along with her many years of experience make her an amazing addition to our team.
